When Monster Hunter World: Iceborne was released in 2019, the game was nominated to be one of the best RPG games of its time at The Game Awards 2019. The popularity of the RPG game increased enough that Monster Hunter finally got its film adaptation, entitled Monster Hunter Movie. Unfortunately, the film is rumored to be released in 2021.
According to the writer and director Paul W.S Anderson, the film has actually been completed by him, but will only be screened on April 23, 2021. "The film is 100% finished," Anderson said in one of the interviews he gave online media Syfy Wire.
