Epic Games Store did it again.
Emerging as a game that has been used as a PC benchmark over the years, Crysis is one of the best shooter games Crytek has developed. The technology is very advanced, it makes people think that the game has been developed in 2007 and below.
Its work as an internet meme is inevitable. That the most powerful PC at that time could barely run it very well, became a very painful fact for veteran gamers at that time. Now, after years Crytek has finally released it as a remaster.
Interestingly the game can run on the Nintendo Switch because only this version has not been postponed at all. Despite the fact, many reviewers have complained that the performance is not as good as some games ported by the developer who also ported The Witcher 3 to the hybrid console.
Unfortunately, it seems like players wishing to buy the PC version on Steam will have to bite their fingers, because Crytek decided to release Crysis: Remastered exclusively on the Epic Games Store.
It is explained through the official Crytek website that a superior version of Crysis: Remastered will be ready for release on September 18, 2020. The game will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games Store.
Crysis: Remastered will present a visual appearance that is more pleasing to the eye. The game will feature textures up to 8K, support HDR, temporal anti-aliasing, Screen Space Directional Occlusion (SSDO), Global Illumination (SVOGI), state-of-the-art depth fields, new lighting settings, motion blur, parallax occlusion mapping, Screen Space Reflections and Shadows (SSR & SSS), and other new effects.
