It seems like the Catalunia football team, namely FC Barcelona, are really serious about developing their esports team. Because recently, the team that already has the Esports division for the eFootball PES and Rocket Legaue games, has collaborated with one of the giant companies from China, namely Tencent.
Previously, FC Barcelona itself was trying to investigate competitions or tournaments in China and the US in order to develop their esports team. The collaboration with Tencent will take the form of an exchange of information, education, and developing the esports industry with the aim of exploring and collaborating between the sports and video game industries through esports events. Reportedly, the first step in this collaboration is, the FC Barcelona e-Sports team itself will be included in the Legaue of Legends Pro League, considering that Tencent itself is the full shareholder of Riot Games.
The move taken by Barcelona itself is the right step considering that Tencent itself has so far held several shares of game developers who have esports tournaments such as Clash Royale, Fortnite, PUBG, Ranibow Six, Call of Duty, and Overwatch.
