Phantasy Star Online 2 is finally getting an English-language version after years since its release in 2012 ago. Unfortunately, because of its fairly old-fashioned visual appearance, the game doesn't have an attractive visual appearance. However, it looks like SEGA has other plans to revitalize its franchise.
SEGA announced that they will release New Genesis: Phantasy Star Online 2 for Xbox One and PC via Microsoft Windows Store. They did not provide clear information at the time of the announcement. They only describe the game as the best version of Phantasy Star Online 2 with elements that have been tested and defended. While the game design, gameplay, and visual appearance will be changed in such a way.
This indicates that New Genesis: Phantasy Star Online 2 is a reboot or remastered version of the series. At least, that is the speculation that is possible in this scenario.
Even so, SEGA did not provide clearer information about the presence of the game, whether reboot, revamp, remastered, expansion, or even a sequel. They only ensure that New Genesis: Phantasy Star Online 2 will be released in 2021 for the Xbox and PC.
