AMD has announced two new Ryzen 3 products, namely Ryzen 3 3100 and 3300X. In the specifications released by AMD's website, Ryzen 3 3300X has a higher clock than Ryzen 3 3100.
However, this does not mean AMD only increases the clock speed. Because AMD uses multiple chiplets to manufacture Ryzen 3000 or Zen 2 series processors. This means that each processor has several chiplets and each chiplet can have multiple processor cores.
In Ryzen 3 3100, 2 of the 4 cores are deactivated for each CCX (compute complexes or chiplet). So Ryzen 3 3100 has 2 + 2 cores per CCX configuration and 8 + 8 MB L3 cache. Whereas on Ryzen 3300X, 1 CCX was totally disabled. So that there are 4 cores remaining on 1 CCX only.
This gives the advantage for 4 Ryzen 3 3300X cores that can access L3 Cache of 16MB at maximum, not 8 + 8MB. This makes the Ryzen 3300X have exceptionally good performance at a very affordable price. In fact, the Ryzen 3300X has a single core performance that is almost the same as the Intel Core i7-770K from the Cinebench R15 benchmark results.
