The latest motherboard from Intel with the Z490 chipset is rumored to be supporting the Intel Gen 11 processor. This is based on information from Gigabyte. Where the Z490 motherboard will support the Intel Gen 11 processor, Rocket Lake-S. This is a rather rare thing. Usually, Intel only releases chipset support for only one generation. If it is 2 generations or more, Intel or the motherboard manufacturer will not confirm before the release.
Most likely, this is due to external PCIe 4.0 support on Z490 motherboards. Where Z490 chipset does not support PCIe 4.0 independently.
